Published by Efling on

Efling – union has cancelled its call to strike on March 28 and 29, which were due to start in a few hours.

Efling cancels the strikes in light of a new basis for talks, which has now been presented on behalf of the employers’ association, SA. This turn of events took place in the state mediator’s office in the late afternoon.

Other parts of the planned strikes are still going ahead. The next set of 24-hour strikes is scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week. The city buses run by Kynnisferðir are also starting their rush-hour strikes on Monday. We remind our members to keep an eye out for further news and announcements this weekend.

Efling thanks its members, staff and volunteers for the great work that has been put into the planning and execution of the strikes so far, which have now resulted in a limited but significant success.
